DIY Beauty: Whipped Green Tea & Coconut Oil Moisturizer

Did you know that green tea moisturizer can help to moisturize, and improve the health and appearance of your skin? It doesn’t have to cost much, either. There are plenty of products available on the market, but we suggest to reap the benefits of green tea, try this easy-to-make recipe at home via Henry Happened.

Lotions on the market that are made with green tea extract provide skin with free-radical-fighting compounds that may reduce acne and wrinkles and make your skin smoother and healthier. Because the most significant side effect of using topical green tea products is minor irritation, green tea creams can be a safe, affordable treatment for a variety of skin conditions.

The combination of antioxidants in green tea and other botanicals may offer more powerful skin benefits, according to researchers who published a paper in "Rejuvenation Research" in 2012. In a 60-day study, they compared the effects of a green tea topical lotion to a lotion containing lotus extract. Although both lotions decreased the skin's roughness and scaliness, a combination of the two lotions provided more significant improvements, making the skin much smoother than skin treated with only one or the other.

Test out this moisturizer for yourself! It is a great way to be frugal, but most importantly it’s the best way to know exactly what ingredients are going into your skin care products.
